Quick start guide

How to listen online
We use the Windows Media Player, (v. 6.4 or higher) to stream our station broadcast and play audio clips. If you've already installed the player, simply click "Listen Live" in the player at the top of the page to hear the station broadcast. After a few seconds of buffering, the stream will commence.

Music search
Looking for detailed information about your favorite music? Our extensive music database includes:

  • over 65,000 artists
  • over 625,000 albums
  • over 5 million song titles
  • 870 different music styles

You can search by artist name, by album title, or even by song title.

If you have trouble using our music search, please let us know.

Rate it
You can rate songs by clicking "rate it" next to the song title. Rate the songs from 1 to 7 ... 1 means "I don't like it at all," 7 means "I like it a lot."

After you rate a song, you'll be asked if you would like to possibly participate in music opinion and other research surveys conducted by the radio station. The surveys are designed to make the radio station sound even better. Signing up to do so is a quick process. Once signed up, the station may, in the future, contact you on an occasional basis for these kinds of surveys.

You may continue to rate songs without signing up--it's not a requirement.

If you have trouble using the "rate it" feature, or if you receive errors when trying to rate a song, please let us know.

Our "hear it" and "rate it" features utilize embedded Windows Media Player to play song samples. Occasionally, closing the window containing the embedded player while the sample is still playing can cause your browser to crash if you (a) have antivirus software that employs real-time virus scanning and (b) you have Windows 2000. Temporarily disabling the real time virus scan while you listen should resolve the problem. If you encounter this issue on a system other than Windows 2000, or with different (or no) virus scan software, please let us know.

The song samples used by our "hear it" and "rate it" players are provided by and are the exclusively the property of SonicGuide, a product of All Media Guide (AMG). To view the terms of use for AMG content, including artist content and song samples, please visit our Visitor Agreement.

Site search
At the top of every page is a global search. Enter your keywords and click "Go" to start your search

What are the different ways I can search the site?
At the top right of every page is a global search box. Enter your search term or terms and click the Search button to search the entire site. To search for an exact phrase, e.g., "United States", put the terms in quotation marks.

How can I filter my results to get more specific information?
There are two ways to filter results:

  • Date/Relevance filtering. On the search results page, you can filter your results by Date (returns results in date sorted order, starting with most recent) or Relevance (returns results in descending order of relevance). By default, search results are returned in Relevance sorted order. To narrow your search to a particular date range, enter the From and To dates in mm/dd/yyyy format under Narrow by date, and click the Go! button. To return to the full set of search results after narrowing your searchby date, click the Go! button again.

  • Category filtering. The "Narrow by type" field on the right side of the results page shows how many results were returned belonging to a particular category. Click on a link (e.g., Events or News) to narrow your search results to that category. To return to the full set of search results after narrowing your search by category, click the "All" link under "Narrow by type".

Search results can fall into the following categories. Note not all categories will be available for every search term.

    • Articles
    • Audio
    • Blogs
    • Contests
    • Events
    • Images
    • Movies
    • Music
    • News
    • Slideshows
    • Theaters
    • Video

You can search using either the name of the item you're looking for, or by using a keyword. The keyword search allows you to type in a word you think might be associated with the content you're looking for, and see if you get a result. You may need to try more than once using keyword search. You also may have heard a specific keyword used on the radio in association with the content you're looking for, and you should use that keyword when searching for it.
